Give way to traffic on the major road ahead.
What it means in practice
The Yield sign is an inverted triangle with a red border. You must slow down and give way, but you do not have to stop completely unless you need to wait for traffic to pass. Irish versions may read Yield, Yield Right of Way, or Geill Sli.
