Disclaimer

TheoryLane is an independent learning application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Road Safety Authority or the official Driver Theory Test service.

Not official questions

TheoryLane does not contain official examination questions and does not reproduce the official Driver Theory Test question bank or any third-party question bank. Every question is written by TheoryLane from published Irish road-rule sources, and is designed to test the same underlying knowledge rather than to imitate any particular question.

Not legal advice

The explanations in TheoryLane are summaries written for learning. The Rules of the Road is itself an interpretation of the law from a road-safety point of view and is not the law. If you need certainty on a legal point, check the original legislation or ask a Garda.

Rules change

Irish road rules change. TheoryLane records when each source was last checked and publishes that date on the Learning material page. Always check the RSA website for the most recent position, particularly on speed limits, penalties, licensing and rules for e-scooters and similar vehicles.

Study readiness

The Study Readiness figure is a measure of how your revision is going, calculated on your own device from published components. It is not a prediction and does not represent a probability of passing the official test.

Sign and scenario artwork

All sign and scenario artwork in TheoryLane is drawn from scratch by TheoryLane based on the written descriptions in the Rules of the Road. The drawings are diagrammatic teaching aids and are not exact legal reproductions of prescribed sign designs.
