Steep descent ahead

A steep downhill gradient is ahead.

What it means in practice

Select a lower gear before the descent so that the engine helps control your speed, rather than relying on the brakes all the way down. Braking distance is longer downhill.

Description

A yellow diamond sign showing a road sloping steeply downwards.
