Level crossing ahead unguarded by gates or a lifting barrier

An open railway level crossing is ahead with no gates or barrier.

What it means in practice

These crossings rely on you obeying the traffic lights, where provided, and on the Rail Cross Code: always expect a train, stop at least two metres before the line, look, listen and cross quickly when clear.
